The SOLANUS CASEY | Apple + Caramel Butter | Seasonal Collection
The first time I stumbled upon these words from Blessed Solanus Casey, I was immediately struck. What faith and trust must be required to thank God before He answers our prayers! Because what if things don’t turn out like we want them to? What if God has a different answer in mind than the one we’re looking for? Do we really believe that He knows best? Lord, grant us the grace to let go of our expectations for ourselves and others so we can fully embrace Your dreams.
It also occurred to me that my usual disposition of heart “ahead of time” is worry. Not gratitude. Whatever situation I’m praying for or about--whether it’s a big event or even just tomorrow. I’m usually thinking of all of the things that could go wrong and what I can do to make sure things go exactly like I think they should. Or worrying that God isn’t going to do things exactly like I asked. How different would my life be if instead of worrying, I chose to give gratitude to God for whatever outcome He willed, knowing, of course, that I could trust that He was doing what is best for me out of pure love for me?
Fr. Solanus Casey lived a life that was so simple and pure, it was actually amazing and extraordinary. This fall scent profile aimed at honoring the simple things. It is a fabulous blend of apples, cinnamon, and caramel over a clove and tonka bean base.
